Last updated: July 2, 2026
Agreement
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of thecollectivemakom.ca (the "Site") and related services offered by The Collective Workspace operating as The Collective Makom ("we," "us," or "our"). By using the Site or purchasing services, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.
Services
The Collective Makom provides coworking, meeting room, event, and community programming services at our Toronto location and through our online presence. Specific offerings, hours, pricing, and availability are described on the Site and may change from time to time.
Information on the Site is provided for general purposes. While we strive for accuracy, we do not guarantee that all descriptions, prices, schedules, or availability are current or error-free. Confirmed booking details and invoices govern where they differ from marketing copy.
Bookings and payments
When you book a day pass, meeting room, event space, or other paid service:
- You agree to provide accurate contact and billing information.
- Payment is processed through our third-party payment provider (Stripe). By completing a purchase, you also agree to Stripe's applicable terms.
- Prices shown on the Site may exclude taxes and fees unless stated otherwise; applicable taxes (including HST) are calculated at checkout where required.
- After payment, you may be directed to a scheduling tool (such as Calendly) to confirm your reservation time, where applicable.
- Cancellation, rescheduling, and refund policies depend on the product booked. Contact us at info@thecollectiveto.com for assistance.
Workspace and conduct
When visiting or using our physical space, you agree to:
- Follow posted house rules, staff directions, and applicable laws
- Treat other members, guests, and staff with respect
- Use shared facilities responsibly and leave spaces as you found them
- Not engage in harassment, discrimination, illegal activity, or conduct that disrupts others
We reserve the right to refuse service, suspend access, or cancel bookings if these standards are not met.
Events and programs
Event registration may be handled through the Site, third-party platforms such as Eventbrite, or in person. Event dates, speakers, and formats may change. We are not liable for changes beyond our reasonable control, but we will make reasonable efforts to notify registered participants of material changes.
Intellectual property
The Site and its content — including text, images, logos, design, and software — are owned by or licensed to The Collective Workspace and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or exploit Site content without our prior written permission, except for personal, non-commercial use permitted by law.
Third-party links and embeds
The Site may link to or embed third-party websites, tools, and microsites (including social media, ticketing, scheduling, and program pages). We are not responsible for the content, policies, or practices of third parties. Your use of those services is subject to their own terms and privacy policies.
Disclaimer of warranties
The Site and services are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis to the fullest extent permitted by law. We disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, The Collective Workspace and its directors, employees, and agents will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the Site or services. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Site or services will not exceed the amount you paid us for the specific service giving rise to the claim in the twelve (12) months before the claim, or one hundred Canadian dollars (CAD $100) if no payment was made, whichever is greater.
Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless The Collective Workspace from claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Site or services, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of another person or entity.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. You agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Toronto, Ontario for disputes arising under these Terms, subject to any mandatory consumer protections that apply to you.
