OUR MISSION & VISION

Our Story

Where and how we gather matters

The Collective Makom was born from a simple but urgent idea: that in a fractured world, where and how we gather matters.

In moments of rising polarization and antisemitism, we saw a need for a space rooted in Jewish values—conversation, curiosity, hospitality, and responsibility—while remaining open to allies and collaborators who believe in building a more connected world. Makom, meaning "place," reflects our belief that physical space can shape relationships, ideas, and belonging.

The Collective Makom is a social and cultural co-working space where Jews and allies come together to work, learn, and gather with intention. Through shared workspace, Shabbat dinners, masterclasses, and cultural programming, we create opportunities for meaningful connection across difference and discipline.

Our vision is long-term and expansive: to become a model for values-driven community building—one that nurtures leadership, creativity, and dialogue, and strengthens the social fabric through presence, purpose, and shared experience.

Makom is not just a place to gather. It's a place to belong, to build, and to move forward—together.
